Learning about the weather / Ik leer over het weer

on Tue, 06/03/2012 - 07:48

We are getting close to a seasonal change! Which role is the weather playing in this all? How can we discover more about the weather in a fun way? Me and my blogging playmates (scroll down to know who!) bring you some weather themed crafts or playideas. Please visit our bloghop and link up yours too!

I show you how to make a weather wheel and sing you the special rainbowsong with your preschoolers!

I miss you - Speaking about death to children

on Sat, 21/01/2012 - 21:44

This is a post that I have been planning to write for a long time, but when I sit down to work on it, I can’t find the right words. I ask myself why it’s so difficult to write about death? Probably because it’s a topic that I want to avoid...

During my childhood I got the thought that we turn into ghosts or zombie’s after death. [Michael Jackson’s Thriller didn’t do me any good]

So my innerchild was hiding in her darkest place when Chanel started to be interested in death. She is six now and is becoming more conscious about life every day. It’s like I see her waking up from her own world she was living in until now.

‎"Who are you?" asked the caterpillar
"I hardly know!
I know who I was, but I've changed" said Butterfly

HALLOWEEN's Ghost Post - song and story

on Wed, 26/10/2011 - 22:40

I don't avoid to talk about 'the dark' with the kids. Every single one of us has bright and black sides, both of them make us complete.

Halloween allows me to take away or make less the fear of dark, black, monsters, witches, ghosts or mummies...even if these are white :)

Here is a little funny Ghost story, including song.
Great to learn colors, animals and the words "Hello, I am ...", the counting from 1 to 10.

(Inspired by Time for Play 'Colored Ghost' story)
